Surge In Visitors To The 2016 Food Safety Summit

This has resulted in the Food Safety Summit attendance rocketing 12% higher than in previous years.

  This Food Safety event is run every year and is now in its 18th year in 2016 and has been held for the first time in Rosemont at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, attracting around 1700 registered food safety professionals.

  This is 12-percent higher attendance. There was also a 20-percent increase in exhibitors with more than 200 exhibiting companies making an appearance on the show floor.

  The three-day-event is set up and run by BNP Media with food safety professionals discussing the most pressing matters facing the food and drink industry including Listeria, the implementation of the Food Safety Modernization Act and the Integration of the Nation’s Food Safety System, as well as liability and even time in prison.

  Three certification programs started off the show, including Preventive Controls for Human Foods, Food Safety Auditor Training and Seafood HACCP.

  There were also various workshops being given on subjects such as Process Validation and the Food Safety Professionals Road Map to Success.

  There was an opportunity for attendees to network with 202 vendors including Gold Sponsor Roka Bioscience, Silver Sponsor Alchemy Systems and Bronze Sponsor Eurofins, who showcased speciality products and services designed to help food safety professionals do their jobs more effectively.

  Senior executives from the FDA and other companies presented in the conference program to share their insight on the future of the food safety environment.

  The Exhibitor Showcase Theatres featured two days of presentations where attendees could hear from subject matter experts about the newest solutions and technologies in food safety and security.
